Qualcomm reported a 26% year-over-year decline in handset chip revenue and an 89% increase in automotive revenue in its fiscal fourth-quarter results released in San Diego on November 4. The quarter ended September 27, 2026.
Handset revenue fell to $5.137 billion from $6.961 billion a year earlier. Automotive revenue rose to $1.990 billion from $1.053 billion. Internet of things revenue increased 4% to $1.888 billion, but total revenue at the QCT chip business declined 8% to $9.015 billion.
Companywide quarterly revenue under generally accepted accounting principles fell 8% to $10.322 billion. Adjusted revenue, which excludes certain items, declined 7% to $10.442 billion, while adjusted diluted earnings per share fell 28% to $2.17. The adjusted per-share result narrowly exceeded the $2.16 LSEG consensus estimate reported by CNBC.

Qualcomm said the semiconductor industry was facing higher input costs across wafer fabrication, assembly and testing, advanced packaging, memory and other materials. It said it was reflecting those costs in product prices and expected the full benefit of those actions to reach QCT gross margins in the second half of fiscal 2027.
For the first quarter of fiscal 2027, the company forecast revenue of $10.4 billion to $11.2 billion and adjusted diluted earnings of $2.15 to $2.35 per share. The midpoint of the earnings range, $2.25, was slightly below the $2.27 analyst estimate cited by CNBC. Those figures are company guidance, not reported results.
Chief Executive Cristiano Amon reaffirmed a fiscal 2027 data center revenue target of $5 billion in the official release. He also projected more than 60% year-over-year growth in non-handset revenue. Qualcomm said it had announced a multigenerational AI data center product collaboration with Amazon and renewed long-term patent licensing agreements with Apple, Huawei and Transsion.
On November 5, the day after the earnings release, CNBC reported that Qualcomm shares were down about 9% during trading. That was an intraday move at the time of the report, not the day’s closing result.
