Vitality Works of Albuquerque, New Mexico, updated its recall notice for 365 Whole Foods Market ashwagandha capsules on October 30 to clarify that the product was distributed nationwide rather than in selected states. The company announcement posted by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration identifies one lot recalled because of potential Salmonella contamination.
The affected product is Standardized + Full Spectrum Blend Ashwagandha, sold in white plastic bottles containing 120 capsules. The notice lists lot number 2025-26227 and an expiration date of October 13, 2028. Both are printed on the bottom of the bottle, according to the company.

The product was available from November 24, 2025, through October 20, 2026, at Whole Foods Market stores nationwide and online through Amazon. The October 30 revision corrects the geographic distribution described in the announcement; the notice identifies a single affected lot.
The potential contamination was identified through routine sampling of one retail unit. The company said no illnesses had been reported as of the announcement. The recall concerns possible contamination, not an announced outbreak with confirmed patients.
FDA published the document as a company recall announcement. Food Poisoning Bulletin also reported the affected lot, sales period and nationwide distribution.
